EXHAUSTION
ani
Tired
Bleeding out and drowning in my own blood
Something is filling me
More than i can comprehend
Sick retching from my tired throat
No options
Only hell will lay left on my heart
Allow the calla lilies to die in my throat
And chrysanthemums infest my brain

I’m dying here
But sleep is only temporary death.
WAITING
sometimes I wait for you to get home
for you to pick up your fork and eat with us
I lay it out for you sometimes
for you to smile under the faint glow of your phone
for you to cry with me
and hold me
(Or just pick up the pen)
your embrace feels like the stars.
Sometimes I wait for you
your laughter the colour of the light in your eyes
but you're not coming back
your eyes are dim- closed-
your laughter forgotten to the seas,
Seas we forgot to reunite you with,
the winds are the ones that cry with me now
and the stars don't feel half as warm
SWEEHEART
sometimes I wait for you to get home
for you to pick up your fork and eat with us
I lay it out for you sometimes
for you to smile under the faint glow of your phone
for you to cry with me
and hold me
(Or just pick up the pen)
your embrace feels like the stars.
Sometimes I wait for you
your laughter the colour of the light in your eyes
but you're not coming back
your eyes are dim- closed-
your laughter forgotten to the seas,
Seas we forgot to reunite you with,
the winds are the ones that cry with me now
and the stars don't feel half as warm
My name is Ani, I’m a writer with a love for experimenting with form, however I majorly work with articles, flash fiction and poetry. I currently write for music blogs such as Dead Good Music and Noizze. This being said, my submission for Lilith’s Diaries contains three poems by the names of, ‘Sweetheart’, ‘Waiting’ and ‘Exhaustion’ all of which are currently unpublished. They, as does much of my work, mean a lot to me, dealing with personally emotional themes such as grief. My greatest inspirations in regard to poetry are Dakota Warren, Ocean Vuong and Kae Tempest.
