PASSING OF YOU
stephanie burke
your touch of gold
has now grew old
from the moment you left
to the words we kept
treasured away for a long tomorrow
as i mend the thorns of sorrow
i often feel as if you are still here
as if your heart was still astir
i hear your voice so clear in my dreams
like a vivid memory that so loudly screams
the passing of you sinks in my heart like words written on stone
i sit by your tomb as i come undone
searching the constellations for an answer but the stars have gone
WATER THAT FLOWS
i am the water that flows.
i can change from cold to warm to keep you gratified.
i am used, briefly, then relinquished.
i wash the filth off your back, then drown in the waste of the sewage.
i am the water that goes.
i hold your body in large lakes to keep you afoot.
i can change in many ways to help you.
i can wash away your problems when needed.
i can do many, but i am treated like a penny.
